About Us

Our Mission

Central Asia is still largely unknown to most of the world and its tourism industry is shamefully neglected by the mainstream media.

There are a lot of misconceptions about this beautiful part of the world and our mission is to show the world what Central Asia travel is really all about.

Unlike other travel blogs we focus on the Central Asia region rather than on ourselves.

We live in Uzbekistan and we often travel around the region, visiting Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and many other countries in the region.

At Tour Central Asia you’ll only find content relevant to this region.  Since we live here you’ll get up to date information and real anecdotes.

We’re not here for 3 days to review TripAdvisor activities before flying to Thailand :).

Our commitment to travel in Central Asia is why we are the world’s best travel blog for travel in Central Asia.

We can even write the word ‘Kyrgyzstan’ without a spell checker.

Nilufar is your Central Asian expert having been born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

A paediatric neurosurgeon by profession, she speaks native Uzbek and Russian, as well as English y un poco español.

She has lived and worked in Germany, Israel and Singapore and has visited over 20 countries in total.

She also works as an interpreter for medical conferences and business meetings held in English, Russian and Uzbek and has a much stronger English vocabulary than her British counterpart on this blog.

She loves Zumba, learning from neurosurgical webinars and journals, and heaping yoghurt onto plain rice!

Ryan is the man behind the scenes huffing and puffing over slow wifi, broken websites and poor vocabulary.

Jack of all trades and master of none, he is a mathematics teacher by profession and runs online side businesses in the meantime.

Born and raised in Yorkshire in the UK, he left the Dales in 2010 and forgot to come back.
