Best Luxury Hotels in Samarkand City Center
Staying in or at least very close to the city center of Samarkand allows you easy access to the city’s majestic tourist attractions such as the Registan and the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis.
If you’re short on time and want to see many of Samarkand’s places to visit then staying in the city center is your best bet. Samarkand’s city center is very pedestrian friendly and many attractions can be visited by foot.
Hilton Garden Inn Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hilton hotels need no introduction and this particular Hilton is very reasonably priced considering its reputation and facilities. It has a gym, a spa, and one of the nicest indoor pools in Samarkand.
It’s located just outside of the main city but is only a 10 minute drive to the Shah-i-Zinda and Bibi-Khanym Mosque. Conveniently it’s also just a 10 minute drive from Samarkand airport.

Zarafshon Parkside is lesser known but one of the most popular luxury hotels in Samarkand. Its beautiful building, garden and outdoor pool make this hotel stand out from the others.
From personal experience, the staff are not only friendly but genuinely interested in speaking to you. It’s a very beautiful hotel but manages to feeldown-to-Earth and authentic.
“This is a lovely hotel. It feels brand new, located in an old mansion from the Soviet era. The rooms are beautiful, as are the public facilities in the hotel. Continental Hotel Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Continental Hotel is one of the most upmarket hotels in downtown Samarkand and looks especially beautiful at night.
It’s an excellent choice for families looking for a high quality hotel close to the sights of Samarkand for a very reasonable price. It has an indoor swimming pool and sauna which is also child-friendly.
The hotel scores poorly on WiFi but I personally had no issues when using my laptop for work there.

Mövenpick Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Opened in 2022, the Mövenpick is a relatively new hotel. The only 5 star hotel to be located inside the city center, it offers excellent facilities such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spa, and gym.
Hotel reviews are somewhat mixed, largely due to concerns over value for money as it’s certainly not cheap. However if you’re looking for a 5 star hotel with excellent buffet breakfast and proximity to the city’s attractions then the Mövenpick is certainly worth a look.
