If you’re looking for a serene and peaceful spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, Alisher Navoi National Park is a must-visit. Covering 65 hectares, it’s one of the largest central parks in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Alisher Navoi was a 15th-century Turkic poet, writer, politician, and statesman. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest poets in Uzbek and Central Asian literature.
Navoi is celebrated throughout Uzbekistan, and his legacy is honored through various monuments and cultural institutions.
Alisher Navoi Park and Monument Features
Alisher Navoi Park is perhaps one of the most elegant parks of Tashkent. As you enter the park, you’ll be greeted by a majestic statue and memorial of Alisher Navoi himself.
The statue stands under a turquoise dome with white columns, which is typical of Uzbek architecture. This is just the beginning of the numerous historical and national figures that are celebrated with statues throughout the park.
Alley of Writers
The park is also home to over 20 statues of other renowned writers, poets and scholars in Uzbek culture, collectively known as Tashkent’s Alley of Writers.
Apart from its cultural significance, these days the park is also popular for its tulip beds, kids attractions and large artificial lake.
The lake has rental paddle boats, canoes, and Swan boats, and there are fountains that add to the beauty of the park.
Apparently, when the weather is warm enough, visitors are permitted to swim in the lake, although we cannot vouch for this ourselves!
Despite being located close to the lively Magic City Park and Humo Arena, Alisher Navoi National Park is a peaceful oasis that’s perfect for a family picnic or a relaxing day with friends. It has everything you need for a comfortable outing, including toilets, bicycle paths, benches, and tables.
The park is especially ideal for young kids, as it has small, cheap attractions such as bouncy castles and a trackless train that circles the lake.
Park Restaurant And Suggestions
In our opinion, Alisher Navoi National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Tashkent and is definitely worth visiting for a couple of hours.
If you have the time, we strongly recommend visiting Magic City Park after your visit here as the two parks merge into one another.
Head there as the sun is setting for some really nice photos!

The park also has an Uzbek national food restaurant called Chorlar, right next to the water, with great views of the fountain and flower beds.
The food is cheap and tasty, but you’ll need to use a translation app or bring an Uzbek friend to help you with the menu, as it’s only written in the Uzbek language.
Final Thoughts…
Overall, Alisher Navoi National Park is a gem in the heart of Tashkent, with its tranquil atmosphere and cultural significance. It’s perfect for a relaxing day out with family or friends and offers a snapshot of the most important figures in Uzbek history and culture.
Kids will love the open grassy areas, colourful flowers and fun things to do.
