As the creator of this website, I have lived in Tashkent for over 2 years and stayed at many hotels in the city. When it comes to finding the best hotels in Tashkent city center, my personal experiences and local insights make all the difference.
From luxury stays to budget-friendly options, I’ve had the pleasure of exploring a variety of accommodations. Whether you’re seeking world-class amenities or a cheap, convenient base to explore the unique city of Tashkent, here’s a guide to the best hotels in Tashkent city center, each offering its own unique charm and benefits.
Tashkent City Center Overview
Tashkent is quite a large city and the places to visit in Tashkent can be quite spread out across the city. By staying in the center of the city, you’ll never be too far from any tourist attractions. You’ll also have easy access to the popular metro, whose beautiful stations are also definitely worth a visit.
The city center is home to Amir Timur Square, where a grand bronze monument of Uzbekistan’s fearsome conqueror who founded the Timurid Empire in the 14th and 15th centuries proudly stands.
The area is packed with many of Tashkent’s most popular tourist attractions within walking distance, including the State Museum of the Temurids, the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan, Alisher Navoi Theater, Independence Square, and several of the beautiful Tashkent Metro Stations.
You’ll also find a wide range of dining options, from affordable traditional meals at Alay Bazaar or ‘Rayhon’ restaurant to upmarket spots like Hori, Cafe 1991, or Syrovarnya. The city center is truly one of the best places to stay in Tashkent, balancing cultural experiences with modern comforts.
Luxury Hotels in Tashkent City Center
Intercontinental Tashkent
Among the best 5 star hotels in Tashkent city center, the Intercontinental stands out as the newer and flashier option. It offers a “celebrity treatment with world-class service,” and from my experience, it certainly has the best service.
Of all the hotels in the center of Tashkent, this one is certainly the premium choice. The buffet breakfast boasts a huge selection, catering to every palate. The hotel features a restaurant and bar, a hot tub, and a hammam.
Guests can unwind at the wellness area, which includes an indoor pool, fitness centre, and sauna, while a terrace provides a perfect spot for relaxation.
Plus, it’s just a five-minute walk from Amir Timur Square!
Hyatt Regency Tashkent
The Hyatt Regency is the most established 5 star hotel in Tashkent’s city center, having opened its doors in 2016.
This luxury hotel offers multiple restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, and free WiFi throughout the property. The Hyatt’s spa and fitness centre boasts a modern gym, and a variety of relaxing massages are available for guests looking to unwind. The Italian-style rooftop restaurant and bar is a great place for dinner and a drink and they host live music most nights.
Although it’s slightly older than the Intercontinental, the Hyatt Regency remains a top choice for those seeking luxury and convenience in the heart of Tashkent.
Our Choice? The Intercontinental is usually the cheaper of the two despite having better facilities, making this an easy choice for us!
Premium Hotels
Not quite 5 star hotels but certainly clean and comfortable, this group of hotels are perfect for those looking for something modern and clean with some extra facilities but without the huge price tag!
Hampton By Hilton Tashkent
For those looking for a cheaper alternative to the luxury hotels, the Hampton By Hilton Tashkent offers a great option. Located on Shakhrisabz Street, it’s just a few minutes’ walk from Amir Timur Square and the Tashkent Chimes.
This modern hotel features a gym but does not have a swimming pool. While it might lack some of the facilities found in the 5 star hotels, it offers clean and comfortable rooms at a very reasonable price.
Guests can enjoy either a buffet or American breakfast, making it a solid choice for value-conscious travelers.
Wyndham Tashkent
Alternatively, the Wyndham Tashkent provides access to both indoor and outdoor pools (outdoor only open in summer), along with a spa and gym. It also has a popular late-opening restaurant and bar.
Though the hotel feels a bit dated compared to its competitors, it remains a good choice for those looking to combine affordability with access to fitness amenities.
It’s a solid pick for those who prefer a hotel with pools and gym access, without breaking the bank.
Mid-Range Hotels in Tashkent Center
Hotel Uzbekistan
Hotel Uzbekistan is as much a sightseeing monument as it is a hotel, and it holds a special place in the history of Tashkent as Asia’s leading Soviet city.
Though its glory days may have passed, making it more of a novelty stay than a high-class hotel, it remains one of the best located hotels in Tashkent, positioned exactly on Amir Timur Square.
I’ve never stayed here personally, but from what I’ve heard, the reviews aren’t stellar—yet if you’re after a prime location for a relatively cheap price, it’s certainly not a bad option.
Tip: If you don’t end up staying here but still want to experience the hotel, head to the top floor in the evening. There’s a bar and restaurant with one of the best views of Tashkent, overlooking Amir Timur Square as the sun sets.
Alpha Plaza Hotel & SPA: Authors’ Pick!
Located near the State Museum of Arts, the Alpha Plaza Hotel & SPA is probably the best value for money of any hotel in the center of Tashkent.
This relatively new hotel features a garden, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi. Guests can start their day with a buffet, continental, or American breakfast. The hotel also includes a sauna (additional costs may apply).
For a comfortable stay in the city center at a reasonable price, this is one of the best choices.
Cheap Hotels in Tashkent City Center
For those seeking affordable options without sacrificing convenience, here are some top cheap hotels in Tashkent city center.
Pakhtakor Athletics hotel
This budget-friendly hotel is quite unusual! Located right next to Pakhtakor Central Stadium, one of the country’s largest sports venues, it offers a unique sports-themed experience.
The rooms are basic but clean, and true to its theme, the hotel features a large gym. While breakfast isn’t served, you can order a light meal from the café downstairs.
Though not exactly in the city center, its position between Amir Timur Square and Tashkent City Mall makes it a great spot for mixing shopping with sightseeing.
Orion Hotel
Situated behind Mirzo Ulugbek Central Park, Orion Hotel isn’t exactly in the city center, but it’s still quite accessible—you can get to the heart of Tashkent via the Khamid Alimdjan metro or a quick 10-minute taxi ride.
The hotel offers a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and bar, making it a decent option for the price. A generous breakfast is included, ensuring you start your day well-fed.
While the hotel feels a bit dated, it’s still a reasonable choice if you’re looking to balance cost with convenience. If traveling with kids, make sure to visit Central Park which is free to enter!
Each of these hotels offers a unique blend of comfort, convenience, and value, making them excellent choices for anyone visiting Tashkent. Whether you prefer the premium comfort of a luxury hotel or the practicality of a budget-friendly stay, Tashkent’s city center has something to suit every traveler’s needs.
